www.thesurveysays.co.uk came about in response to a perceived need for there to be somewhere for first time buyers to go as a ‘next step’ after receiving their survey.

Whether you have not owned a property before, or this is your first ‘old’ home, some of the terms used may be alien to you, and may cause panic – after all, many people have only heard about dry rot or death watch beetle when it’s an appeal from some historic building to raise a quarter of a million for repairs!

A contractors directory can be accessed which lists a specialist for each survey category in each county, although in an ideal world you’d be referred to a local contractor by someone you know.

The hope is that this site will provide you with everything you need to make decisions on the work needed on your new home.

Some survey categories are not yet filled. Many apologies if these are the ones you were looking for – we want to use a knowledgeable writer for each category, and did not want to delay the launch waiting for some of the text! Please check back soon, we are busy working on it.
